The saguaro, native to our Sonoran Desert, provides a focal point for the entry to this home.
The front area of this home has been vegetated with native cacti and succulents.
A departure from the native vegetation, the row of citrus trees planted for the client’s pleasure are located in the side yard.
A tree, planted near the hammock, provides shade yet allows for unobstructed views of the distant mountains.
The shade tree in the corner of the yard was selected for its form. This tree will provide shade and nearly unobstructed views of the distant mountains when sitting on the patio.
This linear patio provides plenty of room for outdoor living and entertainment.
The dry river rock stream behind the patio area serves as a drainage way for runoff.
The iron trellis has been placed to block the view of the neighboring house from the patio exit. Rainwater from the patio roof, captured by the dry river stream, flows to the front and serves as a passive water harvesting technique.
